logfiles can also be generated, for a full explanation of switches type msiexec /? in the Start/Run box and it will display the avialable parameters.

Now I have to figure out how to automate the installation process for this MSI file. Do you have any tips? I did installed SQL 2008 Express and I did have the VS 2008 shell, which I uninstalled with the Add/Remove programs applet, but InfoPath is still telling me that it cannot find VS 2005. This is funny, because when I use VSTO to modify the InfoPath form directly, I cannot select publish to MSI even within VS! I guess I'll have to go with the js installation file.

Re: Issues creating MSI file in IP2007

Hi:

I had this issue recently, where I was getting an error about VS 2005 not being on my machine. For me, the problem was caused by the presence of VS 2008 -- a shell installed when I installed SQL 2008 on my dev machine. Removing VS 2008 fixed this problem for me and has caused no issues for my SQL install.

Re: Issues creating MSI file in IP2007

The only information I found was using regform.exe within VSTO 2005 Tools for Office, but I downloaded it and I found no update for RegForm.exe. There is a workaround for a js installer, but I feel that it would require too much input from our end users. We want to make this a discrete installation process.

Re: Issues creating MSI file in IP2007

Madhuri,

Thanks for your prompt response.
