You should use our Web servie which provides maximum flexibility integrating your form with SQL. You can push and pull whatever data you want without writing a single line of code. The Web servie is a "meta" Web service means you use the same service for all of your forms. Just define a "mapping" for each. The mapping can change down-the-road when your form or database changes. No code and no hassle for you. Free trial is available on our sister site. We offer discounts for registered users who are active in our forum.

I wouldn't touch the DB data connections. Too brittle and limiting since your forms and DB will likely change. Plus, it won't work across the Internet. You'll need a Web service for that. Just my 2 cents though... what the hell do I know ... :)

Cheers!

Given up, merge all the external table fields into master Access table

Hi,

I have over a while now tried to get InfoPath to recognize a separate table, a supplier table,
and build a form with customer details. The customer details are spread across 5 tables.

But when I try to constuct the Data Connection, the InfoPath system would not allow a database submit!!!!

I am not very confident with VB code, but would desire the opportunity to learn (Quickly. bite my lips!!)

I Intended to access the Supplier table in a read only format (If that is possible in InfoPath?).

Now I have the system working, with the all the supplier fields in the customer master file record.

Before all this, I had set up keys, and other thngs suggested, but try as I might I could not get Submit to work.

Again to improve the system. Are the any clues to make the process work the way it should????
