Yes,
Every time I change the database. I leanrt that early in my trials with IP. Likewise Checking the checkbox on the bottom of the InfoPath create screen.

I have had trouble for the last 2 days trying to get valid field connections. I kept getting unbound warnings. I have used the initial form template and added repeat sections for each of the 7 tables.

The database is a computer resident Access database.

But for some reason, that eascapes me, I cannot get t he submit button to recognise that I have an Access db. It is only making links available to other types of data files. That is - Email, Sharepoint, Web or Hosting Environment.

Any Clues anyone!!!!

Re: Had a large table working well in IP, split into 7 small, cannot get IP Forms to work.

Have you tried Tools->Convert Main Data Source?

Had a large table working well in IP, split into 7 small, cannot get IP Forms to work.

I had 1 large Access database. And one InfPath Form using that database. All seemed okay.

Until Access spat the dummy and would not allow me to maintain the DB.

I was advised to split the table up into smaller ones. I did so.

And now have 7 small Access tables, averaging about 40 fields per table.

The problem is. I am trying to use the earlier InfoPath forms with the 7 tables. and I keep getting cannot be bound errors appearing. And so on.

I still have 188 fields on the form. And each time I have to start out and rebind the whole g damn lot. I lose my rules and conditions too. I think.

Please, Please, Please, Can anyone tell which structure I should use in InfoPath??

I use the the standard form where you have a key field entry at the top of the form
followed by a repeating table with the keys redisplayed as data fields at the top of the repeating section.
and sections below that for all the other tables

Six of the access tables have one common field. One of those tables has another field common to the 7th table.

The table with the link to the 7th table I use as the master table.
I presume the system looks up the other tables with the keys that are defined as having a relationship.
When I rebuild a data connection I start with the table having the two key fields.
All others are added as tables forming a relationship with that FIRST table.

I need this finished by Monday. So seeking help desperately.
