So can you imagine my amazement that to actually alter a checkbox through another fields rules, that I have to enter a STRING "true" or "false".

Initially I only used true() and false(), because nothing else was available.

Now I am commited, I think what I have done is still okay!!??

Re: How do you set a True / False on the Add a Rule Action dialog box

Hello,

If you want to save the 0 and 1 value for boolean field then you have to change those setting in field properties.

Double click on field to get Properties window.

Change ‘Value when cleared' value from ‘FALSE' to ‘0'

Change ‘Value when checked' value from ‘TRUE' to ‘0'

While setting the rule you can set directly ‘0' and ‘1' values rather than ‘false ()' and ‘true ()'.

Re: How do you set a True / False on the Add a Rule Action dialog box

Thank you swathip.

I found I think the solution, And that is tio physical enter a text string "True" or "False" for a CHECKBOX.

Now that is ODD. Why would these controls consume so much space???? And not have Booloean or other swith (on off).

So, in effect a Checkbox is at least 5 characters long?

Re: How do you set a True / False on the Add a Rule Action dialog box

Hi,

If the field type is Boolean type then we will set the values to true or false. But the Rule action will not change automatically to 0 or 1 when you change the type to numeric. And it will show a validation around the control as only integers allowed after firing the rule.

How do you set a True / False on the Add a Rule Action dialog box

Do you use False() or Use True().

I don't think so.

True and False a values not functions. And I find my Forms cannot handle them.

The Action Window Value Dialog Box converts any direct entry to a string. If you use the Functions

True() and False() return errors when used.
Boolean cannot be used
Eval cannot be used.

I am at a loss after of weeks of working around it. Yahoo, Problem solved. You physically type in True or False, as a string.

Doooh.

Does the value change to 0 or 1 when you change the field type to numeric?????
