Add the condition as if CommentSubmitted = TRUE and commentsField is not blank then make the field read only. Also make sure that the CommentsSubmitted field should be in repeating column in the same level as comments field.

Mark User Comments as read only after submitting

I have a form that will contain comments. Each comment is to be tracked so it can create almost a log of what happened through the life of the form. 3 columns of information that need to be tracked. The comment, date comment was entered, and the user that entered the comment.

I have a repeating table setup with the 3 columns. I created a hidden text box(called it CommentSubmitted) and set the default vaule to false (boolean is the data type). On submit, if the comments field is not blank it changes the hidden text box value from false to true. I then set conditional formatting on the 3 columns (comments, comment date, and comment user) so that if CommentSubmitted = TRUE then make it read-only. Well the making it read-only is working great, but when I go to add a new entry it to is read-only, so I can't add any addition comments.

I have this working in a test form that just has a repeating table with one field and it works perfectly, so I'm not sure what I'm missing on my real form. Is it because I have 2 additional columns?
