I would like the button on the email itself. Many folks on the distro group won't have InfoPath on their machines. We have SharePoint, but it is only on the company Intranet, so that won't help me here. I don't know what WSS or IPFS are, but odds are we don't have them.

As this report will go to management, I want to keep it simple. Just click the button to see all prior tasks. No opening other applications, or clicking on links. Basically just like the Outline feature in excel. That would be perfect. In fact if there were a way to use excel, I might do that too....The problem is that users would have to open it as an attachment and I'm trying to figure out how to do this in the body of the email itself.

Do you want users to click a button in the email itself? Or would the users click on a link in the email, to open the form in InfoPath, and then click a button to expand? Or are you using ShP/WSS/IPFS? Or does the form live on your machine and send email from there?

Send infopath form as email with interactive buttons

I have a task list in Infopath I use as a project management tool. Every week I email this task list out to my team. It is important to be able to keep all past tasks on the list for historical info, but we generally need to see the top 5 or 10 at a time. What I would like to do is send the email out to my team and when they open it, they only see the 10 most recent tasks. There is a "show all" button that will then expand the list to show the other older tasks. Then a hide button to collapse the list back to just the top 10 again.

I think I can figure out how to create the form to do this, but it seems to me that once I send the email, all "interactive abilities" are gone, and it is no more than a published document at that point. Is this true, or is there a way to make published data more interactive.

I hope this make sense, I'm fairly new to InfoPath and don't really know all the terminology yet.
