As nobody else oferred any help I eventually got a Microsoft Quick Assist card and after chatting to them (though not actually getting a resolution yet) I have found a way to get pretty much what I wanted.

First step was to edit the form to Include a "File Attachment" button, which I didn't know was available before, I did not decode/recode anything and only limited users to attaching PDF files.

Secondly, I published the form to a server accessable to all users.

Thirdly, I edited the Hyperlink on the Office button (see previous links on how to build that) to point at the form on the server.

It seems to work pretty well and if I could just remove all the warning popups and send confirmation requests I'd be in business.

thanks for listening (if not answering...)

M.

ps. I still have nothing on .fdm extensions.

Open an infopath form from a custom Button on Outlook 2007

Hi,

I have an issue that Microsoft Help can't help me with.

I wish to place a toolbar button on Outlook for all our staff which on clicking/selecting will open either an Outlook created or Infopath form (preferred) which has an email address prewritten, the users will only have to add the details in the form controls (very simple) then click/select send.

I built the form without a problem and added the Submit options and it all works fine. The issue is having it connected to the Outlook button.
I Used these articles.

http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-10878_11-5793034.html?tag=rbxccnbtr1

http://www.windowsitlibrary.com/Content/191/18/2.html
I wanted to open this form from a button on the toolbar. The button works fine, BUT, Vista does not recognise the .fdm extension and will not open the form, that and I get a whole series of security pop-ups before I even get That far. I apologise for the longwindedness of this one but, 1.How do I get the .fdm recognised?2. How do I switch all the pop-ups off?

OR, Is there another method I haven't found yet to do this please? Thank you
