Ok I will walk you through what I am trying to achieve. Let me know if this a feasible solution

We currently have about 200 windows forms and we are trying to move to Infopath forms. As a first step for all the existing forms we have generated XML and XSL and XSD's respective to each and every from.

Now I am trying to create a Infopath form ( XSN Forms ) for each and every xml and xsd. I am thinking basically if the below two approaches will do it

1.) creating *.xsn files using the schemas. (are there any VS Tools for office solutions to do this )

2.) make a CAB file using existing XML,XSD and XSL and generating Manifest XSF file( again will have to generate this manifest programtically for repective forms).

Are any of these a feasible solution. Thanks

Re: Creating Infopath froms Existing XML and XSD

I'm not sure what you mean by making an XSN programmatically. A form template needs to be visually designed and that requires human interaction. While it's not impossible to make an XSN programmatically, I wouldn't recommend it in most cases.

Re: Creating Infopath froms Existing XML and XSD

Jimmy,

Thank you very much.

My questions should have have been this Initially, Anyways here is the
question,

We are currently in the process of moving from custom winforms to Infopath
forms.

For existing 200 forms we have a schema.
I am new to Infopath forms and have very less information on how forms are created. From the basic tutorials on web I think if we have a schema we can create a Infopath and filling the same would create us a XML file.

Now my situation is to the things in oppisite way.

What I am trying to right now is to create Infopath forms from existing XML with data and XSD's ( which is quite opposite of creating xml after creating Forms based on schemas and filling up the forms to create XML ).

I am trying to see if there is any way to do this. Could any one help me in doing this.

let me know if you need more information I can give you an example of xml and xsd of what I have.

Thanks for all your help
