First you have to get the Manager ID from SharePoint. You have to send this Manager ID as argument to stored procedure to get the values from database. In that select statement you have add the condition like Manager ID equal to your value then you will get only related Manager ID rows form database.

Re: Passing parameters

Hi Shiva,

Thanks for your reply, I know what you are saying and I am not very good at coding so I was thinking I might get away by setting up rules, but it seems like I would have to rely on stored procedure. The only thing that is confusing for me is that I am catching the Manager's ID from their SharePoint site, but the Employee ID's are coming from DB Table. I don't know if I can filter the Employee's ID based on Manager's ID. In this case I would be looking at a merge of web services and DB table. Is this possible? Thanks again!

Re: Passing parameters

Hello,

You have to change your select statement as per your requirement. You have to pass the manager id value to your query then it will give the employee id's which are under that manager id.

We can pass the parameters to query using code or we can write stored procedure also for this.

Passing parameters

Hi There,

I was wondering if anyone can help me with this. I have Web Services that I am using to receive the credentials from SharePoint site; however, I have database connection as well to receive the data.

In this infopath form I am try to retrieve the data from SharePoint as well as database. I am receiving employee's ID's from DB and their manager's ID from SharePoint. Now I want to show the employees according to their manager, so lets say there are 5 ppl working under manager name bob, then he would only see those 5 ppl. Is it possible to do something like this? Thanks in Adv!
