I typed a piece of text and right-clicked on it and selected "Hyperlink". In the General tab, under "Link To; Data Source:", I used the "concat" function to stitch the fields together:

concat(d:t_Subfolders/d:t_Discplines/@Network_path,d:t_Subfolders/@Subfolder, @FileName)

The fields in bold correspond to the fields in my first post (fields are case-sensitive, so be very careful when typing in the expression). I used this same expression for the "Display" information. The text now changed into some sort of "control", kinda like a text box, so then I cut and pasted it in my repeating table. When I run the query, now I get clickable hyperlinks that open the files.

Concatenating fields from a Database

Hi, I have 3 fields in 3 separate database tables: "Path", "Subfolder" and "Filename". The file path was broken down this way in order to manage changes easily down the line (servername changes, etc).

I am trying to set up a form to query this Access database. I'm new to Infopath, but so far I have been able to create the data sources and filtered controls and the query is working correctly. In the database I don't have a field containing the full path to a file, so my question is: how can I concatenate the above three fields into an Infopath control (or other method) so the user can click the resulting concatenated "URL" field on the form to open the file/s returned by the query? Thanks!
