Since the form is in sharepoint you should not have to save it again. You could actually put the path to the specific file in the email body.

The attachment would be trickier but you could either have the user attach manually using the path provided or you could setup an Outlook rule which would automatically detect and use the path to make the file attachment.

For the second I would create another data connection for submit in the form that would save the document to a set location on the local computer. My Documents\rejects or whatever that saved the form with a descriptive name

How to open a Outlook instance from Web based Infopath form / How to open "Save As' dialog from infopath form

Hello friends,

I had developed a data entry module in InfoPath. It is a web enabled Infopath form. I had a document library containing scanned PDF reports. When user click a record, it opens up a PDF file in a seperate window and a web part page containing an InfoPath form in a sharepoint environment. Then user will do the data entry from scanned PDF report to an InfoPath form and then submit the form. Now the requirement is that when the scanned PDF report is not clear, user can reject it. For rejection user have 2 option button on the InfoPath form.
1. Send mail to an agency from where the report is coming with a PDF file as an attachment
2. Save the PDF on local machine and manually report the agency.

For case 1. When user click “REJECT” button on a form I need to open an Outlook instance with PDF as an attachment (here I think I need to save that PDF from the document library on local drive and then I need to attach it with the open outlook instance.)

For case 2. When user click “REJECT” button on a form I need to open a windows “SAVE AS’ dialog box to allow user to save a copy of the PDF to local PC. The file name should appear in the file name text box of the dialog.

This is an urgent requirement.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance
