Also, I've found a tutorial on MSDN which walks through the process of creating your own submit routine for InfoPath -> SharePoint; but I've run in to a problem I can't find a way to debug.

"The form definition (.XSF) file has an invalid mapping from the document to the Submit Web Service."

Also the incrementing number would have to be saved in a list or database field. A new form would be opened, query that field, add 1 to it, then save it back. I just did that in an access database but saved the number as an integer, and then did format(FIELD, "00000") to get the correct format for use in the filename.

I don't know javascript, but I might be able to find some in vb.net

Re: Newbie - How to programatically to save a form to Sharepoint Form library (Preferably using java script)

I'm trying to do something similar:

http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/8178/29622.aspx#29622

Seems simple, I just can't quite get the syntax right. One field is a drop down, the other is a date.

Field 1: AA

Field 2: 06/23/2008 - or whatever format dates are stored

AA20080623.xml is pretty much what I would like the final name to be...something like that.
I've tried: office.date by adding the fields and office&date as well as others.

Re: Newbie - How to programatically to save a form to Sharepoint Form library (Preferably using java script)

I'd also like to know, *bump

Newbie - How to programatically to save a form to Sharepoint Form library (Preferably using java script)

Hi,

I am quite new to infopath. I just created a form and i was wondering if there is a way to use MSE to programatically save the form to a sharepoint database?

and also i wanted to know if there is a way to increment a string field using the programming option, so that every time someone submits the form the field would increment. For example, initially the field would be 00001 and the next time someone fills out and submits the form it would become 00002.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
