I've unchecked "Store a copy of the data in the form template" because it was always storing the data available at design time. (The data is updated in the database daily.)

It is my understanding that unless you check this box, you will not get any kind of offline capabilities with your secondary data sources. If you check it, then the most recent copy of the data is cached on the computer so that if you are offline the next time you have it. With the box unchecked, you get nothing.

Secondary data connection unavailabe offline

Hello, I'm new to Infopath as of late last year and I have one problem plaguing the release of my form. I've tried various options and settings, but cannot get my form to store the most recently accessed data in the template. Here are the details:

I'm using InfoPath 2007 w/ WSS 3.0

There is no form code, I am using only xpath expressions, rules, etc.

The main datasource is XML

There are 5 secondary data connections which recieve data from tables in a SQL Express 2005 database

Each secondary data connection is queried via a UDC file in a sharepoint list with a relative link

I've unchecked "Store a copy of the data in the form template" because it was always storing the data available at design time. (The data is updated in the database daily.)

After hours of testing, the results are inconsistent, and I'm out of ideas. It looks like it I can actully get it to load offline at times, but when Outlook detects that I don't have an internet connection, the data won't load into the template. I suspect (and hope) that there's a simple fix for this, I just don't know what else to try. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Phil
