I don't know how to write code, other than a little bit of TSQL. The form will also submit straight to a database and I was under the assumption that it might make that more difficult if the form had code behind it. Is this correct?

InfoPath makes everything difficult if you don't know how to write code. They need to get it more user friendly straight out of the box.

Re: Autogenerated filename for SharePoint Library

Boy, it sure would be easier to do this in code (you would just capture the OnSaveRequest event and change the XDocument.URI?). One idea is to automatically create a new form and submit that. There is a rule action called "Open a New Form To Fill Out" but unfortunately it doesn't take XML as a parameter so you're out of luck. You could use a button to automatically open a new form and merge another form into it - how easy that would be would depend on the form's schema.

Why not just write 4-5 lines of code? It's all domain trust.

Autogenerated filename for SharePoint Library

I have an InfoPath 2007 form that is submitting both to a database and a SharePoint Document Libary. The SharePoint filename is generated automatically by concatenating fields in the form when it is first submitted to the site. I have some users who can audit the SharePoint Document and resubmit back to the database. My problem is that if any of the fields for the concatenating filename is changed, I want the SharePoint Document name to also change, but it retains the original filename. We are keeping the SharePoint Documents as reference forms so the users need to be able to find the filight in question. I don't want to create a different document but update the filename when it's submitted back to the database. Is there a way to do this? And can I do it with a rule without writing code? For Example a filename would be submitted as LM0190801162245, which is an aircraft name, year, month, day, hr, and minute (Aircraft and complete time of flight). If the plane changes to LU014, I now want the same SharePoint file with a filename of LU0140801162245.
