This solution works fine but i am facing a problem with case sensitivity. I have a county field on the form for user entry, which i need to validate against the value in the county list. If a user has entered a value not matching to the value in the list, i want to display an error to the user. I have "Bacon" in the list and if user enter "bacon", the rule is violating and user is getting a message for non matching value.

can you please suggest how to overcome case sensitivity so that user can enter "Bacon" or" 'bacon" or "BACON" in the field and any of these entry is consided as a valid value?

I tried TRANSLATE but it does not work.

thanks in advance,

For the rule condition set input field = Sp DC name field. This will be true when the user leaves the field and the value is found in the SP list. You can have a message box action or clear the field or whatever you want. Not equal is probably what you want for your condition.

Let me know if you need more.

Data Validation with a SharePoint List

Hello all, I'm new here and have been wrestling with a problem for a while that I was hoping someone could help me with.

My form has a field for the user to input a name. What I'd like to do is check what a user types in against the names in a sharepoint list I've already created a data connection to that sharepoint list to collect the names but am having trouble getting the data validation to check what is typed in against the list of names from sharepoint.

If you have any questions let me know and I'll do my best to answer them.

Thanks for you help,
Josh
