To have greater flexibility InfoPath was designed to utilize web services, which give you the ability to have multiple query and submit connections. I would look at the Database Accelerator package as it includeds many webservices that install right out of the box. Qdabra Database Accelerator Suite Version 2.1.2815 - Developer

If you would like a demo, we already have a timesheet form that does what you describe, using the Database Accelerator services. We have a whole Project Tracker suite of forms for creating SOW documents, tracking resources, and customers, and time against projects which are all integrated.

Infopath Timesheet Entry

Hi All -

Question from someone new to Infopath.

I have 3 Tables I'm working with structured as below

Employee Table

    Employee ID

    Employee Name

Project Table

    Project ID

    Project Name

TimeSheet Table

    Employee ID

    Project ID

    Week Number

    Day 1

    Day 2

    Day 3

    ....

    Day 7

    Comments

I'm trying to create a form that allows a user to select their name from a drop down list and select the week that they are entering. Once they enter that data they are allowed to enter data into the project section which they choose a project id and then enter all the hours for that week that they worked on it. They should be able to enter multiple projects by inserting repeating lines.

My problem is that I can't get the form designed right where they can do the above without having to also insert a duplicate employee and week entry which makes the form look silly afterwards.

I have a table layed out where the first row is 2 columns. Column 1 is a repeating section with the employee ID drop down list and Column 2 is the repeating section for the week.

Row 2 has 9 columns for the project id and day data and comment box.

Any thoughts on how to organize this into the needed structure?
