So if you query on primary record you will only see the related secondary records. If you are looking for all of the data in the secondary to populate a drop down or use for selection then you would need to setup an additional secondary DC to the table itself to load this. However in this scenario you cannot submit to a secondary. That is where you get into some of the limitations.

If you are not a SQL expert, I would again recomend (DBXL) Database Accelerator, since it makes it much more straightforward for you as the InfoPath designer. Once it is setup then there is very little SQL admin and you can get at the information via the webservices without being dependent on them.

Re: Data Connections to SQL Data Base

It's my main data connection but not the first table I chose. The first table came over repeating but the following ones did not. I will be reading and submitting data to this database and I did create it from a Data Source.

I think it might be how the relationships are set up. I'm going to have one of our SQL experts look at it but I'd appreciate any comments from you as well. I'll also ask them whether they have the Database Accelerator.

Thanks!
Suzanne

Re: Data Connections to SQL Data Base

Is this your main data connection or a secondary? Are you just reading data or submiting as well?

Was your form created as a Database form?

Sometimes this can occur from how your tables are set up and related properly.

Have you checked out the Database Accelerator WebServices Suite? If you are going to be working with information from a database I would recommend you download it and check it out. Qdabra Database Accelerator Suite Version 2.0 - Developer

It makes working with SQL and creating enterprise class forms very easy.

Data Connections to SQL Data Base

I'm trying to figure out how to connect a data source to a form. I have a SQL database and I'm trying to fill out the form. However, I noticed that my sub tables in the Main Data Connection don't allow me to check the "allow multiple records from this table to be displayed in the form" How can I get them to be repeating tables?

Thanks!
Suzanne
