Without it, you have to write code, and it gets worse - you need .NET SQL Client permissions which is a deployment hurdle. If you want to install a free BASIC version of our Qdabra Database Accelerator Web Service, let me know. The current evaluation version is October's beta which is missing this web method. We are going to release V2 this month and I can send you a private copy in the meantime. Or, you can just write a STORED PROCEDURE in your SQL 2005 DB and expose it as a Web service method and call that. :)

Drop Down Box

I have a form that I am building for training verification. I have added a list of Employee names to a dropdown box using a data connection to a SQL database for population. I have added text boxes to the form and bound them to the fields in the database. When someone selects a name for the dropdown box and hits a sumit button, I want to run a SQl statement to populate the bound text boxes with the data from the record that bares that Employee name. All of that to ask this "How would you add the code in SQL to have the SQL statement look at the dropdown box and get the name selected??

Thanks

Phillip
