This would allow data to be populated across "forms (i.e. views)" when typed in once.

3 - Conditional formatting will allow you to have fields become readonly under certain conditions.

I don't understand what you were trying to do with multiple forms resource -- but sounds like what you want is to create a Receive Data Connection to another XML file or database.

Creating Forms -new to infopath

I am having to create about 10+ forms with InfoPath. Several things need to be able to occur in the completion of creating these forms, but I need assistance. But here is what I want the end product to be:

1. I want information typed in one form to be populated automatically in another form. For example, Name, city, state and so on are normally on more than one form. We dont want people to have to type in that information over and over.

2. I want all forms to be linked together. So I could combine all the forms in one or something. I dont want 10 separate files of forms. I want 1 file of 10 forms.

3. I only want people who will be filling out the forms to edit the fields they enter information. Ideally I want some fields protected and some not protected.

I used the "multiple forms resource" to create a supporting form, but the end result did not work for me and I did it several times.

I would deeply appreciate some help here!!!!

Sincerely,
Angela Davis
