I don't think either of those solutions is ideal in my case.

The application is being deployed as a desktop app (Windows forms) so "a Shared folder or a Local folder or to a Sharepoint form Library or to a Webserver" will not work for me.

The issue with publishing the form as an MSI is that the form isn't being used as a stand alone solution. It is embedded in a windows form using the Infopath windows form control (InfoPath.FormControl). I'd rather not have a separate installer for the windows app and then an installer for each of the infopath forms that the windows app uses.

Surely there is a better solution for deploying these forms?

Re: Deploying an InfoPath form with a windows app

Hello,
You can create an MSI to be distributed but the form needs to have full Trust
Also You can deploy the form to a Shared folder or a Local folder or to a Sharepoint form Library or to a Webserver.

Hope this helps you.

Deploying an InfoPath form with a windows app

Hello,
I am currently working on a .NET project that is using the Infopath FormControl embedded in a windows application. The Infopath forms submit their data to the windows app and also have C# code on the back end as well.

What are my options for deploying the Infopath forms so that they can be packaged in the windows installer and distributed?

Is there a way to get around having to specify an access path when the infopath form is published?

Any insight into this process would be greatly appreciated.
