I was in fact using InfoPath 2003 without any service packs installed. My VPC installation of InfoPath 2003 is in fact at SP1, which explains why I was seeing the display tab there.

Thanks for all your help. For this you will have to save the status of the form in one field and have conditional formating by following these steps:
1. Double click on check box and click on Display tab
2. click on Conditional formatting button and click on Add
3. Select status field in first drop down, is equal to in second drop down and Type text from third drop down, enter the status value for which you want to have check box read only
4. check 'Disable this control' and click on 'OK' 3 times

You can follow the above steps for radio buttons also.

Hope this helps!

Making Radio Buttons and Check Boxes Read-Only

Hi,

Is there anyway that I can make my radio buttons and check boxes read-only? I'm working with multiple views, and depending on what stage of the workflow we're at, would like to make certain portions of the form read-only.

Thanks.
