It still say's that they are not able to open the view though. It seems really weird. Even by putting myself into the groups, without designing the form, I am not allowed to see them.
Don't know of any other methods do you.

The only thing that I can think of doing now is to create 6 different .xml files within folders that have write access enabled to certain groups. This way they can only write to their own version. Then I would have read only boxes for each different form. It is a very long winded process though and as you can imagine is not ideal.
Any further help would be grately appreciated.
Thank You

Re: Security Issue's

Hello Keith Brittain,
You can have an xml file with the user names and alias for each group, check if the logged on person is in any group in the xml file and open the corresponding view if present in any group other wise display the message.

Hope this helps!
Security Issue's

I have very recently used Infopath for the first time. I have developed a staged Form that allows users to request something, then different people in my active directory can add comments and approve. They then send it to the next person who does the same.

Currently I have 6 views, they all show the same information but have different a unique accept button. The accept button then follows different instruction using codes. eg. email to user and update the access 2003 database that it is linked to. It has taken me 3 days to put together this form and it works brilliantly.

Within each view are read only boxes on certain information. This again works great. My query is, that after creating 6 different groups for user roles, from my active directory, then creating 6 different views. The only way I can link the two is by putting a menu at the top with 6 buttons on. The first has the rule where if the logged on person is equal to the rights on the button, the button will take the form to the correct view. If not it will display a message. This again would work fine apart from the fact that it is saying that nobody is in any of the groups. It always denies access to the view.

I know I am really poor at explaining it all but I would really really like any help you can throw my way.

Thanks

Keith Brittain
