It looks like the code behind is the way for me to go. In case anyone is curious, I found a useful article on how to do it here:

<a href='http://enterprise-solutions.swits.net/infopath2003/article.php?t=query-access-database-list-numbers&c=infopath2003' target='_blank' title='http://enterprise-solutions.swits.net/infopath2003/article.php?t=query-access-database-list-numbers&c=infopath2003'http://enterprise-solutions.swits.net/infopath2003/article.php?t=query-access-database-list-numbers&c=infopath2003

Re: Customize the SQl in a query form?

When you set up (or modify) your SQL data connection, there is a button that allows you to modify the SQL statement.

If this does not provide what you need, you can always write code behind your search button that updates the data connection query string with the correct SQL statement, and then force the query to happen.

Customize the SQl in a query form?

Hello,

I've set up an InfoPath form that connects to an Access db. The form is used to search for titles of software cds. I need the form to return a list of titles even if the whole title was queried for. For example, if I type in 'Microsoft' I need the form to return every title that contains 'Microsoft'. The SQL should look something like this:

SELECT * FROM tDisc WHERE tDisc.Name like '*microsoft*';

Is there a way I can modify the SQL that the InfoPath form uses??
