I know it's been a while since you posted them but I'm trying to introduce a friend to InfoPath starting from scratch and it's been all but impossible to easily find an online resource for this. All of the labs I find already assume you know how to use InfoPath, yet there doesn't seem to be any 100 level tutorials out there (at least that I've been able to find).

Anyone else know of something like this? Labs/demos/tutorials for completely new-to-InfoPath people?

Re: Extreme Newbie

Not sure if I can give out a link here, but since it is Microsoft I will take my chances. Being a newb at InfoPath too I found these Microsoft labs very helpfull in learning how to operate InfoPath. <br /http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms788216(office.11).aspx
Specially Lab 3 which explains how to upload to SharePoint.
You can also learn a lot from the training they give on the Office site. <br /http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/training/CR061832771033.aspx
It is very well documented. After all that you are ready for the How-to's on this site. I found those usefull after I understood the basics.

Re: Extreme Newbie

Hello Jen,
Steps to Import a word document into InfoPath 2007 are:
1. So, could someone please give us an outline of how to create a form with static and updateable fields? Once the form is complete, we'll be uploading it to our Team Connect Sharepoint site. I looked in the FAQ, but didn't see anything that could help step me through this process. Thank you! But since you are using 2003, you might find it easiest (and cleanest) to simply start building your form from scratch.

Extreme Newbie

Hi - I am trying to create a form template using InfoPath 2003. I have a sample word doc that I can import to start with, but I don't know if this is the best way to do it? Should I import the doc, or just design a completely new one? Several fields on the word doc will be static and several will be manually updated each time the doc is revised. I'm not sure how to proceed. Could someone please help me? Thank you.
