Are you using the final build of InfoPath 2007 (RTM'd last week or so), or Beta 2 Technical Refresh (B2TR) released in September? B2TR has numerous bugs still so I'd try on RTM if you haven't already. Additionally, try to design a new form in InfoPath 2007 with the com object.
