The total should start over. How do I do that? I'm thinking something like this Sum(monthlyexpenses) where ReportDate = current year. Is it anyone who has done something similar to this. Also I have 6 different departments. I want the
sum(monthlyExpenses) to sum this for different department, not all the departments...when the user opens the form. In other words when the user selects the department drop down box...the ytdExpenses........ytdbudget comes from the same database, but Selects just that department selected. What type of query or code will I have to write for this..please help....

Re: Sum(ytdExpenses) for only that year

No I haven't tried it because I'm not sure exactly how the code should be written.and what typre of code javascript or vbscript....let me know what type of code and where should I put it....please

Re: Sum(ytdExpenses) for only that year

That sounds about right, have you tried it yet?

Sum(ytdExpenses) for only that year

I figured out how to sum up the total running expenses, but when the year changes.
