This is achieved using an ActiveX control which can be downloaded to the client machine.

When the user initiates signing of a form in Internet Explorer, the browser will download and install an ActiveX control which enables digital signature support in Web-enabled forms. Digital signatures are supported out of the box for Internet Explorer only, but the platform is extensible so that support can be built by partners for other browsers and platforms.

Hope this helps.
error when click on digital signature link

im having error when click on the hyperlink to sign the infopath form which i open in browser from SharePoint 2007.
