Then there is an option in that dialog to set the behavior when importing (replace or append). I always thought append was the default, but as I just discovered it isn't!

Re: Mapping between Excel and InfoPath

I use the Import command, but it writes over the the same cells instead of importing it into the next row.

Re: Mapping between Excel and InfoPath

What command do you use to "add a new form to the spreadsheet". After creating the map then there should be an "Import" command to import additional XML files.

Re: Mapping between Excel and InfoPath

Yes, I guess it is. I tried the mapping method using an .xml as opposed to an .xsd form. However, evertime I go to add a new form to the spreadsheet it writes over the old one, even if named different. It will only enter data in cells A1:F1 unless I map each one and tell it to use the next line. I found a button under XML properties that should give me the choose of writing ove, or appending to an existing table. The write over option is checked by default and it doesn't give me the option of checking the "append to existing table" option. I don't know if this explains it better, but I am just not familiar with this process and I am so new to InfoPath that I don't know how to explain it better.

Re: Mapping between Excel and InfoPath

Is this a question about how XML Maps in Excel work? I will have multiple forms with the same fields, different users and want each one to enter as a new row. I think the appending button is what I need to do this in XML properties, however, it is not active where it will let me change the command. Any ideas or suggestions. <br /><br />Thanks in advance. I need all the help I can get.
