All I have available to me is just a direct connection from InfoPath to a small MS Access database.

Is there any way to still accomplish what I described in the first posting on this thread?

Re: Data Connections

Hello

Please read the link below for more information on webservices<br /http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/odc_ip2003_bk/html/OfficeInfoPathDevelopingSolutionsCh7.asp

Hope it helps you.
Re: Data Connections

The only one that allows you to have both is a Web Service connection.

Re: Data Connections

I must be missing something here. I see that secondary data sources can be set up to either submit *OR* receive, but not both. I don't see in your links where it allows you to do both. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Data Connections

Hello

You can use secondary data connections to submit and recieve Data connections. Both query and data fields will be entered and displayed from the main form (default view).

The second query (or data connection) should accept data from two different fields and use it to retrieve a subset list of data from the same table used in the first query. The data will be displayed on an alternate view using a repeating section.

I will have seperate buttons for the two seperate queries. Still not sure how to go about accomplishing this. Does it sound like I'm on the right track? Can I do this? Can my second query be set up to depend on the input of two fields? My secondary data connection only has dataFields and no queryFields when viewed in the 'data source' window.

thanks.
