So, no... I'm not aware of one. Sorry.

Re: Repeating Section Problem

I'm not aware of one. Thus, since you have a repeating section (that has been signed), adding an optional section inside that repeating section would invalidate the signature on that repeating section. That's why you are not allowed to do it.

If each manager needs to sign a section and do updates before their signature (i.e. add sections, etc), they will all need to be in separate sections and the signings will need to occur on those separate sections.... and not sign the outer section.

It will likely involve some thought and redesign to make it work for you, but I'm sure you'll be able to get it to work.

Re: Repeating Section Problem

I have a similar problem trying to create a InfoPath Form with a repeating section with a digital signature. This form requires section(s) for the manager, his boss, the dept head, CEO etc....to digitally sign as it goes up the management chain. I have tried using an optional section within a repeating section but the error: "The item can not be inserted, This value has been digitally signed and can not be changed"

The terminology you are using refers to a control in the view. But your usage of it leads me to believe you are referring to a repeating group in your schema.

If the former is the case, then you can simply bind a different kind of control to your repeating group.

If the latter is the case, then this is expected because databases deal in repeating rows of data. Your group, will then, of course be repeating. This is expected.

Repeating Section Problem

I had already designed and implemented a simple InfoPath form. My next step was to develop a different form that was more sophisticated - maybe try out the Master Detail control.

For some reason or another, now, no matter what kind of form I design, all of my fields show up as repeating sections. I even created a single table in MSSQL Server with one field and no predefined relationships and it displayed as a repeating section.

This did not happen when I built my first form. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Many thanks!!
