This would also keep your data purity intact.

However, it's not accepted as a good practice as it might break with future versions of IP, and it's not the easiest thing to do, if you haven't done it before.

Re: Date showing days of week?

quote:

I think you might have missed drgkreddy's point... you don't have to write code if you use the built in date formatting.

If your field is of type "date" or "date and time" then you just need to go into the field properties (i.e. double click the control), and then on the Data tab, click Format. From here you can select how your generic date will display once it's typed in. I don't know how to customize the date besides the choices available. I wanted something that wasn't there. For instance: 6/30/06, Friday.

Re: Date showing days of week?

I think you might have missed drgkreddy's point... you don't have to write code if you use the built in date formatting.

If your field is of type "date" or "date and time" then you just need to go into the field properties (i.e. double click the control), and then on the Data tab, click Format. For instance, if I wanted the date type to be 6/28/2006, but I also wanted it to say Wednesday next to it once the user selects the date. I am not sure how to make any information show on the form that isn't text or a field.
