We have done these in the past, but they aren't easy. My recommendation would be to read about it on MSDN.

Re: Creating a Printable form

WickedShark,

There are at least 2 ways to accomplish this. An easy way (that's not terribly flexible) and a hard way that is more flexible (as far as layout).

Easier way: Export your document to a web file (.mht file). Open it with Word, or import into Word. You can then print it that way.

Harder Way: follow the directions to create an .xlst file for Word. That way the InfoPath form data is transformed so Word can print it. This will require you to create the .xlst file FIRST. You must have this file first, then when you add the print view for Word in InfoPath you use that file. When this is done, InfoPath will know how to prepare the data for Word printing.

<a href='http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP010981031033.aspx' target='_blank' title='http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP010981031033.aspx'http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP010981031033.aspx

In order to create this .xlst file you will need to have InfoPath SP1 installed and download the InfoPath SDK here:

<a href='http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=351f0616-93aa-4fe8-9238-d702f1bfbab4&displaylang=en' target='_blank' title='http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=351f0616-93aa-4fe8-9238-d702f1bfbab4&displaylang=en'http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=351f0616-93aa-4fe8-9238-d702f1bfbab4&displaylang=en

Obviously the easier way (quick & dirty) is the fastest way to do this, but it won't give you or your users as much flexibility as using the .xlst file to create a real Word view.

Good luck!

Creating a Printable form

Hi

I need to know how to take a form I created and make it printable via a word doc.

I see there is an option for this at the bottom of the views task payne but it asks for an .xlst file which i do not know where to find.

Can anyone help?
