I read that thread you linked and that is exactly what I am dealing with. So if you could send that sample I would greatly appreciate it. I posted some advice to someone a month or so ago where he wanted the check boxes to indicate the items selected by the person filling the form out and then having a summary of what they checked. The best way to do that is going to be with views and doing some true/false tests on the check box. And as Matt said using an expression box to display the text fields is going to look better for display and or printing out.

Here is the thread on my suggestions, feel free to post back with any questions, I think I have the InfoPath file still (the sample I made) and can email it to you if you want.

<a href='http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1985' target='_blank' title='http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1985'http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1985

Re: Create a Summary of a Form

Hi Dayna and welcome to the forum!

Could you please describe with a little more detail what you mean by a "summary"?

One solution that does not require a seperate button (it happen synchroneously as the form is filled out) is to use expression boxes for all of the text and checkboxes.

If you are looking for a plaintext "summary" you could construct this using code or a very long concat() statement using the InfoPath formula box.

Create a Summary of a Form

I don't know if this is possible, but this is what I want my form to do. I have different check boxes and text boxes that will be filled out. It want to be able to click a button and it will pull the data from those filled text boxes and check boxes and list it all in a summary.

Anyone have any ideas how to go about that??
