Although I've noticed that when I select something from the DDL in field 8 and insert another row, the first row and any subsequent rows will default back to 'select...' rather than what was selected. What I've been doing to get around this is creating another column and putting a hidden text box. Instead of changing the value of the item in the DDL it just puts a value in the text box, then the subtotal will just add that text box in. I don't see any other way to prevent the DDL from changing to 'select...' after its value has changed.

Re: repeating table with drop down lists question

Hi newbE,

I have looked at your test1 file. There are a couple of mistakes I can see:
1. in your rules for field 10, you are comparing field8 to a display name (i.e. test1). It should be comparing to the value. i.e. field8 = '100'.
2. the condition should use "and" not "or".
For example field8 = '100' and field10 = "yes"

Hope this helps.

Re: repeating table with drop down lists question

I'm not quite sure this is helping as much as it is frustrating me. I don't know XML, It there a point and click method to doing what I want inside InfoPath alone? It just seems like this is something that should be easy.

Re: repeating table with drop down lists question

Do a search for cascading dropdown lists and you should be able to do what you want from that information.

repeating table with drop down lists question

Hi! I'm not extremely familiar with XML but what I am trying to do strictly in infopath alone is giving me problems.

I have a repeating table with 4 columns. In the first column I have a drop down list populated with a number of products which have values(prices)associated with them.
In the second column I have a drop down list with Yes or No in it.
The third is a quantity text box, and the fourth is a subtotal.
In the footer I have grand total for all subtotals.

What I am trying to do is adjust the value for the first column's drop down list based on the Yes or No selection from the second column. The No selection will not change the value but the yes will based on what product was selected in the first columns drop down list.

What I've done is in the yes/no drop down, I've created a rule that says if product1 is selected in the 1st column, and yes is selected in this column, to change the value for product1. I've added a rule for each product in the drop down list. This isn't working properly.

Is there another way to do what I'm trying to do?
In case you cant understand what I'm trying to do I have a test.xsn at <br /http://www.solarlogic.net/test.xsn
Thanks for any help that anyone can provide.
