Hi,

Follow below steps to get your desired scenario,

1. Double click on third text box, "Text box properties" wizard opened.
2. Copy below formula to "default value" box .

concat(substring(surname, 1, 6), substring(firstname, 1, 1)).

3. Click "ok" button.

On your third box, bring up your Text Box Properties. Under Default Value, click the fx for inserting function:
cancat(substring(surName,1,6),substring(firstName,1,1))

It should work.

I have 2 text boxes named firstname and surname.

I have a thrid box called username.

How do i get the thrid box to add the user name automatically when the firstname and surname are entered?

The username must be (first 6 charachters of surname)+(first character of firstname)

eg. Firstname:Peter surname:Stringfellow
username: stringp
