I was able to create a certificate that expires in 2026 and that worked. I found an executable for infopath that created the cert. I was able to attach that to the form and its been working perfectly since. Thank you for your help on this!

Re: Publishing and Infopath form to network location

When you select Full Trust under the versioning settings, you'll see an option to sign with a code signing cert. You can click Create Certificate to generate a temporary certificate. The other option is for the users to install the form, but then each user has to install it, and you have to trust them to re-install it when a new version comes out. I'm guessing if you are publishing to a network share, you'll probably just want to sign it. So try signing w/ a cert created from InfoPath to verify that solves the issue. Then I can help you create a longer-term cert for signing.

Re: Publishing and Infopath form to network location

When you say "you do need to sign it". Are you referring to the Digital Signatures in the form options? If so, if I'm the one who signs it - can other users still open the form?

Because one thing I did was create a personal certificate and it has an expiration date of 30. I was able to open the form after that. But now I can't remove my cert and select the certification my company has with a much longer valid time. Also, if the sign is digitally signed do I need a cert?

Sorry if this is a lot of questions. My knowledge on certifications is very limited and I'm also still new to Infopath. I def appreciate your help!

Re: Publishing and Infopath form to network location

So, when you publish your full trust form, you do need to sign it. Have you tried that? InfoPath will let you create a cert that is good for a short time - you could do that to verify that the form then works as anticipated from the published location.... You can use Visual Studio's makecert to create a longer term cert if that solves the issue for you.

Publishing and Infopath form to network location

I am looking for help on what I am doing wrong when publishing a created form to a network location. The form I have created has several connections that retrieve and submit data to an SQL database. I have saved these connections in subfolder as the infopath form. I have saved the form as a normal save as and then performed a publish to to the network location. I have set the security level under Options \ Security and Trust as Full Trust. I have also exported the source files to a folder where this report lives. However when I attempt to open the form from the network location I keep receiving the error message: "InfoPath cannot open a new form. The form template is trying to access files and settings on your computer. Infopath cannot grant access to these files and settings because the form template is not fully trusted. For a form to run with full trust, it must be installed or digitally signed with a certificate." I am not sure what I am doing wrong that this form cannot be opened from the network location. If you hit OK on the error on the blank infopath filler view there is a "Open Form" and then another message - "The template is requesting trust permissions and is signed by (nothing listed), If you do not trust the publisher you should not open this form. Do you want to open this template?" The "Trust all documents from this publisher" is greyed out and I can select OPEN or CANCEL. I hit open and it does open the form. This form was created locally on my machine but I would assume, saving it, exporting source files, saving the connections and publishing the report to the network location would be all I need to do for users to open the file and begin filling out the form? Not sure what I am missing or what I need to do to remove these errors - any help would be much appreciated.
