Another option is to do this on Form Load rules - just be sure there is a condition to only run the rule if the field you want to set is blank, to prevent overwrites. :)

Re: Multiple Approvers - userName() function?

I found a fix! It was in an old thread as an answer to a previous poster's question (I swear I looked before posting but only just found it now!)

They recommended using a rule button that would set the field's value with the userName() formula only when the button is pushed. Works like a charm!

Multiple Approvers - userName() function?

Hello,

I've created an approval form which submits to a list on SharePoint but am having issues with the userName() function over-writing subsequent users.

Here's the flow for my form:
1. Requestor creates new form (on Requestor view) & the Requestor name has a default value using the userName() function
             - I have un-selected the 'Refresh value when formula is recalculated' so that this initial data isn't overwritten
2. First approver opens the form again to edit (on a new view) & the 1st approver name field should pull automatically in the same way
3. Second approver opens the form to edit again (on a 3rd view) & the 2nd approver name field should again pull automatically but not over-write the 2nd approver name and itself not be overwritten by subsequent users.

This form will conceptually be opened & edited numerous times - is it possible to auto-load the usernames for specific instances & not be over-written?
