For an InfoPath form to write to a SharePoint list, you need to either use a customized list form or code (or qRules, which is a third-party code add-in for InfoPath, or use CAML and form rules, which you can learn more about on this forum) - and to copy repeating data into the main data source of a form, you again need code, or you can use default data (insert more nodes than you'll need by default & use rules to populate them). My guess right now is that you have the repeating tables on your form from your secondary data sources?

Populate repeating table from different secondary sources - then save to multiple SP rows

Hello

Sorry if this is covered elsewhere - I've been Googling for an answer but haven't found exactly this scenario. There are two parts to my query - populating a repeating table from 3 separate SP lists and then writing back to another SP list creating multiple entries.

The task is to create a building survey form. The Infopath form will begin with standard information like building name and room number, then a dropdown to choose the category of work to be examined (eg building, mechanical), Underneath there will be a repeating section where the various inspection criteria (based on the area of work) will be assessed against condition (A-D) and priority (1-4) The inspection criteria (about 90 of them over 3 categories) are held in a standalone SP list, as are condition and priority choices. These will be the three columns in the repeating table.

On opening the form I would like criteria to be pre-populated (and read only), with condition and priority blank, but requiring an entry to be chosen.

On submitting the form, I would like a SP list to be populated with multiple fields like this:

Rm	Criteria	Cond	Priority
1	Lights A	1
1	Plumbing	C	2
1	Decoration	A	3
2	Lights B	2
2	Plumbing	A	4
2	Decoration	B	1
etc

I have managed to get the repeating table to populate with the criteria but I haven't yet had any success with getting the condition and priority drop-downs to work independently, or to submit the data in the format I need.

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks.
