Then use that new field for the display in the dropdown, while using the code for the value. Does that make sense?

2 fields in drop down list?

Hi,

I'm new to InfoPath (2010) and this forum, I've been browsing though the topics and there is a wealth of information here.

I suspect the question has been asked before but I'm not phrasing it correctly so let me explain....

I have a Sharepoint list (2007) which has a number of fields, for the sake of an example lets say Code, Description, Location.

I have a form with a receive data connection to this list, on the form I have a drop down that will allow me to select something from Code and the description and location then appear in the form. Great that works.

Due to the fact that the codes are not pleasant to remember what I would like to do is in the drop down where I can select the code is have the description appear alongside like "123456, Bag of bolts". The code and the description must stay as separate entries in the Sharepoint list and everything is driven by the code entry.

Any help or pointers in how to achieve this would be welcome, even knowing it cant be done would be a starter.

Thanks

Andy
