Newbie - XML Question

I'm new to info path, but have a big task to do! I was hoping someone might point me in the right direction, or at least tell me if what I need to do is possible.

I have an excel macro, The user is going to use this to format some data taken from a Database and create a XML file.

I then want the same user to use an InfoPath form to load the XML file.

The XML file will contain a list of orders. I need InfoPath to check a SharePoint list to look for the vendor where the order is going and extract either the email address or postal address. (the list with have a vendor type to indicate which)

If it's an email address I want InfoPath to send an email to the vendor, if it's a postal address I want the details sent to a formatted document so it can be posted.

I should add I am on Windows 7, using InfoPath 2010 with SharePoint 2007. I am also on a large heavily restricted corporate network so unlikely to get away with cutting any code. An Excel Macro is about all, at a push!

I'd really appreciate any advice. We are replacing on aging IT system which does all this automatically and the new system doesn't. So from the user perspective it's a backward step!
