All of the fields in the Data Connection are able to populate with Fields instead of static text.

Then on the Button, Add a rule that Submits using a Data Connection and choose that connection you created. You will also have to create a "Main Submit" connection so it knows to update the SharePoint List.

Hope this helps. Thanks!

-Prachi

Custom Subject Line When Emailing Form

Hi everyone. I am currently creating a new form for work which will help to track our outstanding engineering faults. When the faults have been updated, the form will need to be sent to an external contactor. Presently we are using Access but want to move from this. Through trawling forums, such as this, and search engines I know to create a button to email the form off to said contractor. The problem I have is with the subject line; I can create the email with a standard subject line that never changes or i can create it where the subject line is populated with data from a field on the form that will change depending on what the data is. However, what i would like to do is have the subject line showing part text that doesnt change and part data from a form field. For example, i would like the subject line to show:

MY WORKPLACE JOB NUMBER (Job number that changes depending on data in specific field)

Can anyone help please? Im using Infopath 2003
