In this scenario you will want to use a field form something like a form logic data source. On the submit button you would then use conditions to set an error message, and not run remaining rules if the condition is met. As an added extra, you may want to highlight the blank fields with formatting so that if the error message is not blank, but the field is, the field is highlighted in a different color.

I've attached a simple example to demonstrate the method.

Hope that helps!
Bre

Infopath Web Forms Error Messages

Hi There,

I have a bunch of infopath web forms deployed to SharePoint.

All works well. User gets warning on submit when not all fields are filled out.

The warning goes "The form cannot be submitted because it contains validation errors....". and so on.

All good but customer complains that they would like to replace this warning message with a custom message.

is this possible and how would i do that ?

thanks so much for any help.
