I think you may not be promoting the properties in the publishing process. A better process is to create your site columns on the site, and then use those columns when you promote properties on publish. Also check that the data types of your columns, match the field types in the IP form.

Hope that helps!
Bre

Form Library keeping Infopath field format properties

I am learning just enough to become dangerous creating forms for our needs. With no help from our server admin teams, I think I have finalized my requirements...at least in my head.

I was looking to use a Sharepoint List, but have to use a Sharepoint Form Library for repeating tables. The problem I have is when I publish the Infopath form. The columns I add do not keep the field formats. I need the columns to keep the currency and number formatting. At least in a List, I can get into Sharepoint Designer and modify the column formats. As a Form Library, the columns do not even show up in the Column view.

I am not sure what to do other than map out all fields required, go to Sharepoint Designer first, create columns for everything I need, and then create the InfoPath form directly from SP Designer.

Is that how it is supposed to be done?
