When they click the link they see an &amp;quot;InfoPath&amp;quot; Approval Screen. However when they select Yes of No Button under &amp;quot;Do you approve this request&amp;quot; a new record in the SharePoint List is created rather than updating the current record. 

The file name is concat(userid,now()) upon submission and allow overwrite if form exists is yes
I have a status field that is set to pending approval upon submission. I have tried several rules on the &amp;quot;YES&amp;quot; and &amp;quot;NO&amp;quot; buttons but I just cant see to get this correct. I am sure it is something small that I am just overlooking.

I have taken a new job and inherited InfoPath awesomeness.  We have a training InfoPath form that has the following:

Area
Type of Training
Last Completed
Due Date

We have roughly 20 locations.  All but 1 location has a CPR Training of 2 years, while the 1 location has a 3 year requirement (which just changed).  

The current value is addDays(CPR Completed, 730)

That adds 2 years to every entry.  

Question(s):  Can we make it to where Location A &amp;amp; B = a 2 year due date for CPR and Location C = a 3 year due date for CPR with in the current value listed above?  If not, is there a way to make the CPR Due Date editable for all locations that still automatically calculates 2 years and we manually change Location C&amp;#39;s 3 years without causing any issues?  I noticed there is a button you can select &amp;quot;Refresh value when formula is recalculated&amp;quot;.  But it looks like that doesn&amp;#39;t help with my issue.

Then I tried to update the workflow where I tried to access the new fields that I created, but I could not find them in the lookup CurrentItem:

The fields were the name of an Admin and the email address of the Admin, which is not used in the online form directly, but required for the workflow. 

I remember reading somewhere that I have to manually push all the fields to the SharePoint, as the Publishing only pushes fields that are used in the online version. 

Can someone help me with this.

I have a repeating table and a textbox which does account per repeated section. The issue we have is, the first entry in a repeated section counts as 1 even if the entire section is blank, this is generating incorrect stats.

I want to be able to update the string to count only if if a field is not blank. Example

Current: count(Customer)

Want it to be count(customer) &amp;gt; 0

Can anyone steer me into how I can do this? I&amp;#39;ve tried to find it on this forum and through Google but having no luck, would greatly appreciate any guidance.

I have a billing sheet that is grouped by a Date field broken down into repeating tables for Personnel, Equipment, Services, Materials, Subcontractors, and Additional Fees. So far as the the repeating tables for everything except Personnel, the rules I have applied function just fine. It is when I attempt some mental gymnastics in the Personnel group that stuff goes sideways.


Personnel rates are not mathematical calculated values, they are looked up from an external SharePoint list based on the Position field AND RateTier fields. For the most part it functions fine if you select the Rate Tier pertinent to the billing sheet and then choose the Position values from the drop down. It&amp;#39;s when you attempt to change the RateTier value that it grabs the first row in the Personnel grouping and duplicates the value for the other Position rows. It will change if you adjust the Positions after setting the RateTier again, but I want it to simply update the values for the rates without having to do this extra step. I have been beating my head against the wall trying to figure this out since it&amp;#39;s really the last piece to the puzzle that I need to figure out.

Is there a trick to getting it to query for each row? I&amp;#39;m new to Infopath and this forum has been of great help recently!  I&amp;#39;m building a Sharepoint list form and have trouble with Submit data.  My SP list is one flat list with Project and Phase details where project name, contacts etc repeats where as the phase and deliverables are unique. So far I&amp;#39;m able to achieve the following

 - Connect to the same SP list as secondary and load project names into Drop down 
 - 1st repeating table shows Project name, contact etc and I hid the repeating rows with formatting rule
 - 2nd repeating table shows project phases and deliverables and I filter the project data with another formatting rule which only works with secondary data source
 - On drop down change, I set the fields values from secondary source - I can&amp;#39;t find a way to filter the main datasource 
 - I tried setting field values before submitting the data from secondary fields to main with a button but it didn&amp;#39;t work.  The form retains the entry but nothing gets saved in the list

I&amp;#39;m not sure what I&amp;#39;m doing wrong here.  I&amp;#39;m open to make design changes.  My requirement is just the users should be able to update multiple project deliverables in repeating table.

Specifically, all appropriate users are able to create/submit Document A without having infopath on their computer. Those same users are unable to creat/submit Document B without infopath. Does anyone have any advice/documentation they can point me to that might help?

Let me know if I need to specify more, this is literally day 1 for me.

I have been trying to brake down an infopath form we use to see how notifications are sent out once an approver from a certain dept. approves. I have checked all workflows that exists for this form and for the life of me I am not able to match what is being sent out by this form! Its looks to be a notification sent once a button is clicked to approve the form. I downloaded VS to also see if there was anyway to see if possible code is handling this but no luck (if this can even be seen).

I have an infopath form that needs to query countries from an Oracle DB. I made the web connection using the &amp;#39;Database MS SQL Server only&amp;#39; option in the wizard and selected what needs to be pulled from the DB but it seems to only work in preview mode. When I open the form in the browser, I get a msg saying that &amp;#39; An error occurred querying a data source&amp;#39;.

I noticed when I go in to edit the data connection it states &amp;quot;The selected DB connection saves passwords in a plain text file. Because plain text files are unencrypted and because the DB connection is available to anyone using your InfoPath form, this action is not recommended.&amp;quot; Is that a problem?

I also have the &amp;quot;Automatically retrieve data when form is opened&amp;quot; selected (check box at end of wizard), but it only allows the form to work in Preview mode (countries display) and not the browser (countries don&amp;#39;t display). Could that be an issue as well?

One more thing... when I do leave the &amp;quot;Automatically retrieve data when form is opened&amp;quot; selected, it prompts the same message for existing forms but when I uncheck the box and republish it, the existing forms and the original template used no longer prompts with the message &amp;quot;An error occurred querying a data source&amp;quot;.

I have a form that has a field of type Drop-Down, a field of type TextBox that is inside a group to make comments and a checkbox that enables and disables the Drop-Down and the TextBox.

The comments field is to be able to capture the Drop-Down data when the SAVE button of the form is pressed and save it within the group (textbox) so that it works as a kind of minute of the item.
The detail that I have is when I enter the item and the Drop-Down at the time of changing the value or index, it also changes it in the TextBox of comments, when it should not do it since the data should not update it after saving it.

Any idea how to do so that when the Drop-Down changes the selection, it does not change the data of the comment group?
