Dropdown list problems revisited

I am having a problem with InfoPath 2010 lookups to an external SharePoint 2010 list not showing data in the SharePoint VIEW. The lookup is working fine (and has for a year), but the SharePoint VIEW is now showing the ID number of the selection instead of the text. In other words it used to display the person's name, but now new entries display the ID# of the person's name.
More Details:
First List is a SharePoint list that has all text fields for name, email, phone, department.
Second list has a data connection to the first list. This data connection provides the Name dropdown field with data.
The InfoPath form in the second list uses rules to pre-fill the email. phone and dept. fields based on which name has been selected.
In the past I could pick a name, pre-fill the other fields, click save and when the All Items view appeared it would display the name etc. However, now I pick the name, pre-fill other fields, click save and when the All Items view appears there is an ID# in the Name column instead of the name.
The only thing that has changed is that I repositioned the fields on the InfoPath form. No programming of the data connection or the rules were changed. It was a cosmetic change to the form to make it look better/different.
I have created test files and forms etc. on a subsite and get these same results - ID instead of text.

Any ideas on how to fix this will be greatly appreciated.
