1) Create a new View containing a Repeating Table, name one of the columns something like "myTextField_Output"

2) Set this column to be multi-line with paragraph breaks

3) Set the Default value of this column to be the multi-line text field on your main form

4) Promote the "myTextField_Output" field and use the Merge option

5) The field will now appear in the SharePoint form library as a multi-line text column

Re: Issue with Multiple line text box

Hi Patrick,

Yes. i am able to see all data ( more than 256 characters) on form but when we publish that column in library and save data, at that time it is not taking whole data.

it seems that, this is sharepoint/infopath limitation.I have googled much for this issue, but didnt find any solution for it.

Re: Issue with Multiple line text box

Hi jayshreePatil,

This is probably a SharePoint limitation. If you type in 300 characters and reopen the form, does it show them? I think it should. SharePoint columns have limited support for data types and lengths (since they use SQL to represent the data).

Sorry to not have a solution for ya,

Issue with Multiple line text box

Hi,

i have added text box on my 2010 IP and i set that textbox to "multiline". but when i save the data , only 256 characters are getting saved in library. Textbox is not behaving like multiline textbox. Also when i checked datatype of that textbox in form library setting, it is showing as "Single line of text".

can anyone tell me how to save whole data of multiple line textbox in form library?
