I did a search on Google and came up with articles explaining this (using code); here's one such link.

Good luck!

Generating Word documents based on filled in InfoPath 2010 forms

I'd like to generate MS Word documents which would collect data from InfoPath forms. I found "smart documents in Word" mentioned in some of the older posts, but no instructions how to do it. If anyonone can help with any information where to find more on this subject, I'd appreciate it.

More details:

We have an exhaustive InfoPath 2010 form covering lots of information, linked from databases and organized in sections. This way we collect all information per item in one XML file. But we need to generate several reports from it (for each item), and these reports need to be designed and - if possible - there should exist a possibility to add text. This is why I find Word more appropriate than Print view > PDF. I'm looking for one of the two options:

a) Generate DOCX file from within an InfoPath form (different DOCX files to include different fields)

b) Prepare a Word template based on XML form, add and design text, include relevant InfoPath form fields (also pre-formated) and then by opening this template and choosing the input XML file the document would be generated and ready for further editing.

Is any of the two options feasible?
