When calling these actions, you'll need to filter. After all, you have the entire set of list data in the secondary data source (from SharePoint) but you only want the data for the specific item selected in the dropdown. For info on filtering in InfoPath, here are a couple of articles and here is a previous thread. These may not be exact to your scenario, but a Google search on filtering from a SharePoint list might give you some additional tutorials. Good luck!

Re: Infopath 2010 + Sharepoint list

You'll first need a receive data connection from the list. Use this to populate the dropdown with the names and IDs of each company on the SP list. Then you want a second receive data connection to the same list. Create a rule on the dropdown that will set the ID value in the query fields of the second data connection. Query that connection and that should return the remaining values of that particular list item into the secondary schema. Note: this will work only in 2010, so if you have an earlier version this method will not work.

Infopath 2010 + Sharepoint list

Hi,

I have a drop down list that populates company names from a list I created in SharePoint. I want to be able to select a company from the drop down box and it will then populate fields with the the company information based on that selection

If someone could help with the steps that would be great
