We have made sure that the data connections store copies of the data in the template, and where appropriate, Automatically retrieve data when the form opens. We've also made sure that the options to "Allow users to fill out this form if data is unavailable" and "Store data returned from queries so it can be used in offline mode" options are checked.

The problem is that when we open a saved form in offline mode, it still looks for the Web Service and then fails instead of looking for the locally stored XML.

The data comes from a relatively large
and complex SQL database and we need to use it to populate drop downs
through the use of code-behind in the
forms. We have kind of hit a wall when it comes to a good way to do
this. We would rather not use a local database that replicates the one
used by the Web Service. Also, we need the local data to be refreshable
when the Web Service is accessible so that it is current with the online
data when the forms are submitted to their
eventual destination.

Any help on how to access the offline XML is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
