Would it be possible for you to create your sample in InfoPath 2007, or resave so its compatible with 2007 version? I cannot open the document you have attached and would like to achieve the same as Jay!

Thanks in advance,

I figured it out... sorry...

I seemingly work too quickly with my mouse and I didn't see the expression box!!

I've got it working now, thanks very much for your help!

Many thanks indeed for your help.... and also for the attached form, great stuff!

I still can't however see how you get the currency type into the total box. I've looked at your form in great detail and I understand what it's doing in terms of multiplying the Qty by the Amount and this works fine, but I don't understand the term 'expression'....

I've looked at each field and can see how these are set, but when i tried duplicating these on my form, I still only get the value, without the currency type....

Can you possibly explain how you get the expression onto the form? (Sorry about this!)

Many thanks indeed

I created a quick sample here that might help - it's in InfoPath 2010 so hopefully you can open it.

I used an expression box to show the currency in a seperate control in front of the "Total" field. The user choese currency from a drop down and this sets the expression box value.

If you are trying to get that symbol into the total field itself that won't work unless you make it a text box (string) which is probably not a good idea since you want this to be a double decimal for calucation purposes. And while you can choose in the number field to show it as $, pounds or Euro etc InfoPath doesn't actually store the currency value in the number anyway (in the XML) it's just a display thing for the form.

Hopefully this helps!

Ted

How do I display currency?

Ladies and Gents, On my Purchase order form I have a drop down list box which queries a list in Sharepoint. It pulls back three currency types: £, $ and €

This gives the user a choice of which currency the PR form should be in, so that when it's submitted the Purchasing team know which currency to order the parts in.

However, below the currency choice is the purchase list, where users submit the quantity of parts, part number etc. At the end of the row I've calculated the quantity and total, i.e. 100 x 2 = 200 (So if a user wants 100 screws which cost £2 each, the total would be £200). The same would go for $, or €.

My question is: How do I get my form to display the currency next to the amounts on each row? At the moment, I can either display the number, i.e. 200.00 or, I can amend the field so that it shows a specific currency, which I can choose from a drop down list, however this only displays the one I pick, not what the user would pick.

Is this easily done??

Thanks for your help!
